no rhyme or reason

today was a bad day turned good.
this morning, danny continued his terrible two's phase by throwing my makeup all over, digging a bottle of salad dressing out of the trash and dumping it all over the floor (then walking through it), and running away every time i tried to change his poopy diaper.
we hopped in the car (the only place i can legitimately lock him down), turned on "lady and the tramp", and just drove.
my heart (and my stomach) took us to in-n-out. while in line, someone had a meltdown because he threw his pacifier across the car and wanted it back. i couldn't reach aforementioned pacifier, so i handed him a new one from my purse. panic attack! it was not the pacifier he wanted.
just as i was about to have a meltdown myself, the phone rang. steve. yes. phew. someone to make me sane.
"hey, are you in front of in-n-out?"
"yes, how did you know?"
"i am sitting outside waiting for my food."
tender mercy.
we pulled into a parking spot, got out, and danny immediately was a happy baby.
"da-da!"
phewsh. crisis averted.
after a lovely, stress-free meal of cheeseburgers animal-style with a couple fresh french fries, we parted ways. on the right foot.
we ran a couple errands, and the baby was happy. he was pleasant.
i would go as far as to say he was fun.
lovely afternoon strolling the spectrum.

i'm so thankful for tender mercies.
and steve.

now, child is napping, mommy is blogging, and life is back to normal.

'til next time --

Haha - I so relate to the pacifier that is tossed and then unretrievable which inevitably results in a miserable child. Glad your day turned around for you :)
You need to stop this... I need to have a baby sometime, but this birth control is very convincing..... jk. Oh hey, did you forget about me? Yeah, I'm back to blogging. And I've been catching up. :) I love your truthful stories, I really do, thanks for sharing!
