Santa Barbara

A couple months back, Steve's work sent him a couple hours north: Oxnard and Santa Barbara. I was like, "Sign me up!" So away we went. Steve worked all day, everyday, while I entertained the almost-three-year-old and snuggled the 3-month-old. It was actually pretty fun to just be in a new place exploring new things. There were definitely moments (grocery store, hotel room, car... ahem...) where I felt like crying and curling up into a ball, but overall it was a fun experience! We spent one day at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. I highly recommend this for kids. It is a small museum, tucked away in a quaint neighborhood, set on an incredible piece of property! It was really worth going just to explore the beautiful buildings and scenery.

After both kids dozed off in the car one day, I ventured around Oxnard on a self-guided tour. I stopped at the beach for a delightful view, Explored the streets of old-town, and just enjoyed the peace and quiet.

The next day, we found a little Children's Museum in Oxnard. Super ghetto-fab. Dan was loving it! Such a kid's dream come true.

I think Dan's favorite part was the pretend kitchen. He made me some awesome pancakes, if I recall correctly.

After three long nights wrestling my oldest child to bed, we started for home. It was a romantic way to kick off our anniversary :) While the kids napped in the car, we had a couple hours of just hub and wife time, so it was all good. Happy 4 years, darling man.

For the ride home. Embarrassingly, I could only find a 2-liter bottle of the good stuff. and I needed it badly (thank you, Danny). At least the trip ended on a good note. JK it was awesome. Can't wait until next quarter to visit again!
