Aspen Grove 2010
We had a stupendous vacation courtesy of mama and papa Stapley -- THANK YOU! We went to AG for my tri-annual-ish Stapley family reunion. It was my first Aspen Grove experience NOT in the A-frame cabins, and although I love me a good campout, I do have to say that this was by far the best method. We were in the Aspen Lodge rooms -- they are like hotel rooms right in the middle of camp. Close to the camp store (aka ice cream and bulk candy), the dining hall, the bridge across the street, badminton, amphitheater, etc... It was the perfect place to stay. PLUS with a baby, it was so easy to go back and forth from the room instead of hiking 15 minutes through the woods every time we needed a nap, a change of clothes, or some good 'ol AC.
One of my all-time favorite things about Aspen Grove has now been discovered -- daycare. I could just drop Danny off. Walk away. By myself. Lay by the pool... with my eyes closed. Breathe easy for a couple hours. It was awesome! AND I know he had fun playing with all the other babies. He was in heaven. My lil' champ didn't even cry (well maybe once).
Highlights of the trip included badminton matches in the evening, ice cream and family time in the camp store, skipping rocks on the fish pond, relaxing at the arts and crafts hut, getting dominated in tennis by old people, hanging by the pool, girls trip down to orem, Sheree surprising us, frontier night, and aspen follies. Fun was had by all! We can't wait to go back. It's the perfect family vacation.
Steve was in heaven playing the Aspen Follies. Here's the Stapley gang of cousins.
