note to self:

next time you're thinking about baby #2, please, please, please remind yourself what it was really like. before you forget entirely (and i assure you, you are very close), here is a glimpse of what your life is like when you are pregnant:
relentless feelings of stomach flu and food poisoning -- times ten.
barfing up Kathy's delicious from-scratch spaghetti.
not being able to "go" the entire month of January 2009.
crying at least once a day.
back pain, oh the back pain.
headaches. always.
the never ending stream of vomit. really, every day.
not being able to drink half a glass of water without barfing.
the endless pricks and blood tests.
the number on the scale always going up.
(except for the first two months, in which case the numbers are dropping like flies.)
the heartburn.
the 9 plus+ pills you have to swallow daily.
the bills. the bills. the bills.
the dark mustache-looking splotch on your upper lip.
the huge pores.
zits.
exhaustion, pure exhaustion. sometimes bordering delirious.
rH- shots.
iron pills. blah.
gas.
just something to think about before taking plunge numero dos. on the upside, while the memories are still there, here are some things to remember to DO when that blessed little angel is on his/her way:
invest in a Sleep Number mattress (please?).
call doctor before 8 week appointment for Zofran prescription.
buy a gigantic, firm body pillow.
take folic acid prior to conception.
clip every take-out food coupon ad for the nights (every night) you won't be able to cook.
buy maternity clothes -- that would have been a luxury.
stock up on Tylenol... and soda.
get yourself a nice pair of maternity jeans.
wear camis with built-in bras.
buy actual maternity underwear.
exercise. at least walk. something. get outside.
take colace daily (tmi?).
remember that steve is trying his best to make you happy --
he hates seeing you miserable.
remember to love.
although you're body has betrayed you, your husband has not. love him infinity.

can we see a trend here? i am the cheapest woman in the world. i can spend money on almost anyone but myself. why? i don't know, i guess i just convince myself that i don't NEED anything. which i don't. but next time, if there is a next time, i will let myself indulge a bit more. live a little. because i'm worth it.

disclaimer:
this is in no way, shape, or form an "announcement."
i just wanted to remember these things for the future.
if there is an announcement, it will be probably 2 years from now. the end.

um....I hate to ask this but what is colace? Am I dumb? Do i need to be taking this?

You got a cute little guy out of all that pain! I am sure it was all worth it!
Thank you for that great birth control. Seriously. :)

And good-to-know notes for the future! Whenever that happens for me.

So, you're set on a Sleep Number? I need to investigate mattresses.... haven't yet.

Okay, everything you said, and I mean everything is my plot right now! It is good to know that someone else gets that sick. I've gotta get in to get that nausea medicine, I'm going crazy! Don't be surprised if you want baby #2 sooner thank you think: one look at a newborn and your heart melts and for some crazy reason you are willing to go through it all again. WHY did I do this to myself? I am excited for baby #3, really :) just not for the sickness and pain!

(I'm Steve's cousin, in case you're wondering who the heck is commenting)

A good bra. A REALLY good bra. It was the best thing I did, self-esteem-wise, with my second baby.
