now this is just getting stupid
what happened to me? why do i not blog anymore? what is keeping me back?
the answer: i dunno.
plain and simple. i dunno. stupid, really. i think it may have all started when our computer broke -- i now have to connect an external hard drive to access my iphoto, load photos, and edit photos, annnnndddd if the weak sauce magnetic charging plug gets bumped off it's little station, the computer blanks out and i have to reboot. i was just over the computer for a long long long time. i just use my phone -- which is why i am terrible at responding to messages via facebook and emails in general. i apologize.
soooo, where was i? oh yes, blogging.
- birthday: i really don't remember much. i turned 25? i think. yes, that sounds right.
- anniversary: 3rd year, babababy! i'm sure we had a great time. sadly, i don't remember what we did! (post-script: i remember, now, haha! We went to the Chart House in Dana Point, and it was super romantic and glorious! Love you, Steve!)
- letter to Danny: i'll write him a letter soon (haha, really though)
- the move: ah-ha! something i DO remember. we moved up the street to a new place! my dear grandma left in the beginning of June to serve an 18-month mission for our church. she needed a helping hand keeping up her big house and 1 1/2 acre landscaping. steve and becca to the rescue! 18 months of utilities-only rent is priceless. we are loving it. please come visit! we have extra bedrooms!
- miscarriage... : well, this one speaks for itself. bummer. major bummer. i was hoping that it was going to be a wonderful pregnancy -- i wasn't sick, and i hadn't barfed once! obviously, something was wrong. i was only 8 weeks along, but i knew about that little babe for a month. shopped for maternity clothes, picked out my double stroller, made a list of baby names. i'm sure many of you have been there. not. fun. life moved on.
- memorial day: spent the day at the outpost pool (my grandma's neighborhood pool -- it is BOMB. diving board, huge lap pool, big 1 1/2 ft baby pool). fun way to kick off summer.
- boysenberries and herbs: my grandma has TONS of boysenberries growing in her yard. she is the master of boysenberry cobbler, and "nectar of the gods" (a b-berry juice creation.) we inherited this juice-er-iffic tradition this year. the freezer is packed with boysenberry goodness!
- psycho two-year-old tales: can't remember any off the top of my head, but i'm sure we can all imagine where i was going with this topic. i could practically make up any terrible, awful, horrendous scenario involving a toddler, and it probably happened. use your imagination.
- grandma's party: we had a texas-themed farewell party for Grandma Sedgwick. complete with spitting contests, root beer chugging, and some delicious bbq. we are so lucky to have such a fantastic, tight-knit family that supports each other
- hair trauma: basically i went from polka dots and chunky "bangs", to an african safari explosion (my personal fave), to completely monochromatic beautiful dark dark dark hair. the end result was good. the road there, not so beautiful
- Disneyland: i honestly don't remember the last time i went to disneyland. the end.
- armada farewell: after a year of bliss, we bid adieu to our beautiful nissan armada. too much car for us, i guess you could say. we needed a couple more mpgs and a little shorter of a climb into the back seat for danny. we opted for a deliciously beautiful (and long time lust) Ford Flex. guys, i'm in love. never has a vehicle spoken to me so deeply as this tri-coat white, station wagon inspired beauty. seriously, go test drive one today.
- wicked: my Christmas present. SO AWESOME. i love that production. i had a great time, steve... not so much. i was elbowing him the whole time saying "ISN'T THIS AWESOME?!?!"
- Utah/Smith wedding: we went to Utah for Steve's best bud's wedding in June. we love him. we love her. we love Utah in the summertime. it was a great trip.
- 4th of July: since we now have a place of our "own", we were able to invite steve's family members to come for a visit. steve's sister's family and his parents took us up on the offer and stayed with us for a few days over the 4th. best holiday! we ate lots of good food. beached. pooled. celebrated the 4th at the sports park with fireworks galore. so fun!!!
PHEW. that was all the blogging juice i had in me. gotta run -- my little bro is waiting for me to pick him up from water polo. adios amigos! pictures to come.
