best weekend ever!
We took off EARLY on Friday morning to:
1) See the Cougars play in the Mountain West Conference tournament in Vegas!
2) See Jimmer live and in person! What a dream team this year.
3) See our amazing friends!
I have to say that the best part of the weekend was #3.
We just love Oakley and Scott and Brandon and Amanda.
The weekend was non-stop fun. We made it to Vegas by 9:30 am to wait in line at the box office for tix to Friday's game... which was sold out. So we had a little faith in the Cougars and bought tix for Saturday night's game. The boys golfed while the girls got mani-pedis and eyebrow waxes, shopped at the outlets, and lunched at Panera. Best method! We congregated to search for a good sports bar to watch the game. And boy did we get some prime seats! We sat at an empty bar upstairs in the sports bar in New York, New York. We had 6 seats in a row, with 4 huge big screens in front of us -- ALL playing the BYU game. We were surrounded by BYU and NM fans, we munched on appetizers, and Jimmer set an all time record of 52 points! Whaatt??!! It was awesome. We walked til we dropped after the game, and hit the hay.
The next day, we slept in while the men golfed, then we ate a Denny's, got ready for the day, shopped at the outlets again, ate at Jason's Deli, and headed to the Thomas and Mack Center for the game. Our seats were SO HIGH. It was awesome. The game started off on the wrong foot and didn't recover until there were 5 minutes left -- it was too late to step up and take over, but it was fun to go nonetheless. We had a great time! And another plus was that my dad and bro-in-law Mark were there... with better seats... and a couple empty seats in front of them. At least we could see the players during the second half :) Then we hopped in the car and drove home Saturday night. Short trip, but jam-packed with fun.
All in all, we had a blast visiting with our buds in Vegas. We need to do these friend weekends more often! Til next time. Au revoire.
